Transfer Your Certification to GTICS

Already certified with another accredited certification body?
GTICS can assist eligible organisations with transferring their existing accredited management system certification, subject to the applicable transfer requirements. Where the transfer requirements are satisfied, the existing certification cycle will be maintained, allowing certification activities to continue under GTICS for the remainder of the current cycle.

How the Transfer Process Works

1. Confirm Transfer Eligibility
To be eligible for transfer, your organisation must hold a valid accredited management system certification issued under an accreditation covered by an IAF or Regional MLA signatory.
Certification that is suspended or withdrawn is not eligible for transfer. Where an organisation does not hold eligible accredited certification, it will be processed as a new certification applicant through the applicable initial certification process.
Organisations that have completed only a Stage 1 audit and have not yet been granted certification are not considered transfer clients.

2. Submit Your Transfer Information
GTICS will request the information and records required to evaluate the proposed transfer. This may include:

• your current certification certificate and approved scope;
• the reason for requesting the transfer;
• the initial certification or most recent recertification audit report;
• the latest surveillance audit report;
• details of any outstanding nonconformities and corrective actions;
• information relating to complaints and actions taken;
• relevant legal or regulatory matters; and
• information relating to your current certification cycle and audit programme.

You may also be required to authorise your existing certification body to provide relevant certification information to GTICS.
These are consistent with the minimum information already required by GTICS's transfer procedure.

3. Pre-Transfer Review
GTICS will conduct a documented pre-transfer review to confirm the validity and eligibility of the existing certification and determine whether sufficient information is available for the transfer to proceed. The review will consider the certification and accreditation status, previous audit history, outstanding nonconformities, complaints, relevant legal or regulatory matters and the remaining certification cycle.
Where required information or audit records cannot be obtained, or required surveillance or recertification activities have not been completed, GTICS may determine that the organisation must proceed through the applicable initial certification process.

4. Pre-Transfer Visit, Where Required
The pre-transfer review will normally be completed through a review of documented information. Where additional verification is necessary to establish confidence in the validity or status of the existing certification, GTICS may require a pre-transfer visit.
This may be necessary where, for example, there are significant unresolved matters, outstanding major nonconformities or insufficient information to confirm the status of the certification.
Where a pre-transfer visit is required, it will be conducted by appropriately competent personnel. A pre-transfer visit is conducted for verification purposes and is not a certification audit.

5. Outstanding Nonconformities
TGTICS will not complete the transfer and issue certification until corrections and corrective actions for all outstanding major nonconformities have been verified as implemented.
Where outstanding minor nonconformities exist, the organisation's plans for correction and corrective action must be reviewed and accepted by GTICS before the transfer is completed. That distinction is important because it mirrors the actual GTICS procedure rather than incorrectly saying that every minor NC must already be fully closed.

6. Final Review and Certification Decision
Following completion of the pre-transfer review and any required additional verification, the complete transfer information will be submitted to the GTICS Certification Manager for final review and certification decision.
The Certification Manager will review the transfer information and supporting evidence to confirm that all applicable transfer requirements have been satisfied before making the certification decision.
The Certification Manager responsible for the certification decision will not have conducted the pre-transfer review or any associated pre-transfer visit.
Where the transfer is approved, GTICS will establish the audit programme for the remainder of the existing certification cycle and issue the applicable GTICS certification documentation.
